Mechanochemical Preparation of a Novel Slow-Release Fertilizer Based on K2SO4-kaolinite

In this study, a novel slow-release fertilizer (SRF) consisting of kaolinite and K2SO4 was prepared, employing the process mechanochemical milling in planetary ball mill. To obtain optimum time speed, several samples were made at fixed mass ratios kaolinite: (3:1). The rotational speed ranged from 200 to 700 rpm for 120 min. Different times ranging 60 180 min 600 also investigated evaluate incorporation measure liberation K+ SO42? ions into solution. properties studied analyzed by Fourier transformation infrared spectrometry (FTIR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), ion chromatography (IC). is green chemistry procedure that successfully applied incorporate amorphous structure. performance evaluated determining content aqueous solution upon leaching. released amount after 24 h 32 mg L?1 conditions rpm, indicating K2SO4-kaolinite has good properties. SRF cost-effective, environmentally friendly, improves fertilizer’s efficiency many agricultural applications.
